The state-recognized Design & Development Center holds 40 patents and provides ODM services for global brands, enabling Bangjie to remain at the forefront of innovation. All operations are built on a sustainable, environmentally responsible, and people-centered foundation, aimed at reducing emissions, achieving Net Zero, and delivering eco-friendly products.

In the context of global efforts to accelerate industrial electrification, RE100 commitments, and Net Zero pathways, Vietnamese enterprises are entering a pivotal transition phase: reducing dependence on fossil fuels and deploying clean, high-efficiency thermal solutions.

In this project, Bangjie Knitting (Vietnam) Co., Ltd., together with H&M Group and the contractor Hauhouse, is implementing and operating a heat pump system combined with heat recovery to optimize energy efficiency and minimize environmental impact.

A key advantage of this technology lies in its ability to recover and reuse waste heat that is typically lost throughout the textile-dyeing production process. The integrated heat pump system captures heat from wastewater and other low-temperature streams, then upgrades it to a usable level and feeds it back into the system. Notably, the heat pump configuration used in this project can further elevate the heat to produce clean steam, directly meeting the factory’s steam demand. This is a significant innovation, as the system can generate steam at a much lower energy cost compared to traditional boilers.

Through a high-performance refrigerant compression and circulation mechanism, each kilowatt of electricity consumed by the system can generate multiple kilowatts of thermal output—far exceeding the efficiency of conventional electric heating methods. This not only significantly reduces and ultimately replaces reliance on boilers, but also provides a stable source of steam, ensuring that temperature levels across all production stages remain optimal and minimizing fluctuations that could affect color quality and fabric uniformity. As the majority of heat demand is supplied by the high-efficiency heat pump system, the factory nearly eliminates the need to burn fuel, thereby fully removing direct CO₂ emissions at the source—a core requirement under the green standards increasingly adopted by global brands when evaluating their suppliers.

Beyond environmental benefits, this technology delivers clear economic advantages by reducing long-term operating costs, extending maintenance cycles, and minimizing risks and expenses associated with boiler operations.

From a strategic perspective, the project aims to gradually replace the role of traditional boilers, moving toward an operating model in which most thermal and steam demand is supplied by a high-efficiency heat pump system—thereby significantly reducing direct emissions at the factory.

With its stability, safety, and ability to operate continuously, the heat pump and heat-recovery system becomes a foundational solution enabling Bangjie to move closer to the model of a green, high-efficiency factory, creating a sustainable competitive edge in the textile industry, which is facing increasing pressure on energy transition and environmental standards. This is an improvement not only at the equipment level but also at the mindset level, laying the groundwork for Bangjie’s long-term technological modernization and sustainable development.

This solution not only increases factory productivity but also reduces direct emissions, ushering in a new era of sustainable growth, operational cost savings, and positioning Bangjie as the first factory in Vietnam to adopt this advanced technology—marking a significant milestone on its journey toward sustainable manufacturing.
